This is a gorgeous new fabric we've sourced which is already proving to be a bestseller. It has a lovely soft, silky drape and is being touted as 'vegetable cashmere' as the handle is very similar. It has an environmentally friendly fabric produced from the waste of tofu manufacture. The protein is extracted and turned into long continuous fibres which are then spun to creat yarn. Once the protein has been extracted the bean dregs are then put back into the earth as fertillizer.
Far from being a new fabric, Henry Ford once used soya to create wool-like fabric to upholster the seats of his cars. It is machine washable at low temperatures.
