Tencel is a natural fibre which is made from the cellulose from wood pulp. Thanks to it being a cellulose fibre it is biodegradable and will usually degrade completely in just eight days in waste treatment plants. It has all the characteristics of a luxury fibre: the comfort of cotton, fluid drape, the strength of a synthetic and the lustre of silk. Naturally absorbent and comfortable and it resists wrinkling.
The production of tencel is a clean process. Waste products in the air and water from the manufacturing process are minimal and considered harmless. Production plant emissions into the air from smokestacks and wastewater are significantly lower in comparison to other man made fibre operations
